Pangea is a new online space-based adventure game set in a vast, procedurally generated universe. The underlying graphics engine enables seamless transitions between interstellar space and the detailed physical environments of planetary surfaces and space stations. The goal of Pangea is to provide a new gameing experience by allowing users to explore a large space, develop entire planets and engage in starwars-like combat. Although a lofty goal, many stages of the system including a runtime prototype, game editor and networking support already exist to varying degrees.
We are currently looking for artists to contribute content and software developers to create special effect shaders or extend the core engine using the open-source components of the system. At the moment, all work is voluntary and of course everyone retains the rights to their own intellectual property. In the worst case, Pangea is good place to showcase your programming and artistic skills.
All of the images and and movies on this site have been created using the Geist3D graphics engine upon which Pangea is built.
